What’s happening in the heavens during the first month of 2012?
This is the last year that was recorded in the ancient Mayan calendar, some believe it heralds the end of the World, I’m sure that isn’t the case and what the wise Mayans probably meant was that many old and defunct systems are ending now and we are at the dawn of a new beginning for mankind. With all the amazing challenges and changes we have seen during 2011 and will continue see this year, we must all hope for better things to come. We’ll all need to look at more creative ways of working and bringing more fairness, kindness and compassion into the way things are done. This month the Sun and transformational Pluto are both in ambitious Capricorn, assisting new projects to really get of the ground and with abundant Jupiter in fellow earth sign Taurus, there’s plenty of scope for successful outcomes.

Romantic Venus, along with Mercury the planet of communication and travel, spend most of the month in optimistic and truth seeking Sagittarius. Broader vision, optimism and a fresh perspective are the cosmic gifts to everyone during November. But do take care as Mercury is back in Retrograde motion on the 24th, diligent checking of correspondences and travel arrangements are once again essential. Action packed Mars is still in fiery and creative Leo until the 10th, innovative ideas should blossom now. On the 11th, Mars shifts to hardworking Virgo and thought out plans and ideas can become reality. The full moon on the 10th is in down to earth Taurus, possessions and finances come to the forefront and the Sun in passionate Scorpio brings intensity to needs and desires.

After the turbulence of August we can now settle down to the arrival of the Autumn Equinox on the 23rd. The Sun is in diligent Virgo and our attention is turned to study and acquiring new skills. Schools and colleges start their new terms and the focus is once again on hard work. Fiery Mars is somewhat subdued in the watery sign of Cancer, but after moving to creative Leo on the 19th he finds new ways of imaginative expression. Venus, the Goddess of love, starts out in perfection seeking Virgo, but then moves into her own sign of Libra on the 15th – romance has every chance of blossoming now! The full Moon on the 12thth is in the intuitive and spiritual sign of Pisces and gives us all a chance to look at what is not working in our lives and contemplate on how to improve things.

April begins with a bang as Mars, the warrior planet, bursts into fiery Aries on the 2nd. This is closely followed by a new moon in Aries on the 3rd . What will all this dynamic planetary action bring? Spring is well underway now and most people will have a sense of renewed energy and vitality, which bodes very well for innovative and productive projects.
